SUPPORT

The South Australian Aviation Museum (SAAM) preserves and enhances its collection of aviation history with South Australian significance.
The SAAM Foundation was established to assist the Museum in its mission for generations to come, and now we need YOUR support.

You probably already know that the South Australian Aviation Museum has been doing an amazingly successful job of collecting, restoring and displaying aircraft, rockets, spacecraft and xx, in addition to showcasing the stories of thousands of spectacular aviators, aircraft and xx in a living memorial to thousands of visitors and locals for x years.

What you may not know, is that even though the museum opened in 19xx and was incorporated in 1984 … and has been a hugely successful wealth of educational experiences! .... the collection is growing and the visitors are increasing… and the museum needs to expand to facilitate this.

The Museum’s hundreds of volunteers work enthusiastically in collecting and curating the exhibits, running the shop, providing tours, restoring engines and aircraft, and generally keeping the place operating. However, to increase the exhibit space and upgrade the workshop, a new hangar will need to be built.

This is where the idea for the Foundation was born. It was established in 2019 with the objective of assisting the Museum in achieving its vision into the long term, by supporting the strategic and significant projects by connecting with philanthropic benefactors, whilst the Museum focuses on its successful operations and what it does best.

SAAM is the first community aviation museum in the country to be accredited by the History Trust of South Australia to the National Standards for Museums and Galleries.

How can I help?

It was great to see such a good turnout at our recent events.

Leave your mark on aviation history

Put your name on a Vickers Vimy brick today before they sell out, and be immortalised on our VIMY WALL at the entrance of the Museum for all to see your support. We managed to salvage a number of bricks that the Vickers Vimy was resting on for x years at Adelaide Airport before it was painstakingly moved to its current location.
